The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has shared its plan for recruitment exams in 2024. They propose the Combined State Upper Subordinate Services (Preliminary) Exam-2024, also known as PCS (pre)-2024, on March 17, with the PCS (mains) exam beginning on July 7.
Results for PCS-2023, aiming to fill 254 vacant posts, might be declared within nine months of the preliminary exams, fueling hopes for PCS-2024 results in November or December.
Disappointment looms for those aspiring to be LT grade (assistant teacher) and lecturers in government secondary schools, as their exam date isn't in the calendar.
Yet, UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar assures adjustments after determining qualification equivalence from the government level.
While exams like Medical Officer Unani (Screening) and Scientific Officer (Screening) are scheduled, others, like for lecturers, await approval of proposed rules related to the Government Degree College screening examination.
Recruitment exams for posts like Combined State Agricultural Service Examination will be adjusted once the state government approves the syllabus.
The UPPSC secretary emphasizes the tentative nature of the dates, subject to change under special circumstances. With 22 reserved dates, candidates are urged to complete one-time registration (OTR) promptly, obtaining an OTR number for smoother application processing after advertisements are issued.
Key dates for exams include Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) on February 11, PCS Preliminary Exam-2024 on March 17, and Scientific Officer (Screening) on November 17.
